| In this section I will endeavour to list most
of the Orders and Decorations of the above country that were
instituted from 1800 until 1990. Also links to web sites which feature the respective awards. Real images will be added to most sections. |
Order
of Merit (All Types 1881 -1945)
This is the third and last
Order to be instituted by Alexander I. It was established 24th
March 1883 to be awarded to Officers for acts of bravery in the
cause of the Bulgarian nation. It took the form of a circular
pin back badge with the Kings head on it. The 1st Type with
Alexander's effigy and the 2nd Type with Ferdinand's effigy. All of these awards
are worn on the left breast suspended on a triangular ribbon
