Poland Republic F1006 Pin Back Badge of The 78th Airborne Missile Regiment
April 19, 1985 ,
the Head of
the General Staff of the Polish Army issued Order No.
026 / Org., Which established the 78th Artillery Regiment of the
Polish Air Defense. The unit achieved full combat readiness on July
1, 1985. In 1991, the unit was renamed to the 78th Airborne Missile
Regiment. At the end of 2001, the 26th
Missile Brigade was
demolished . Of its composition, the 78th Missile Regiment was left
as an independent unit.
The regiment is a unique unit, the
only one of its type in the Polish Army. The unit was under the 2nd
Air Defense Corps in Bydgoszcz .78
pr. came out of direct subordination of the commander of the 2nd Air
Defense Corps - subordinate to the commander of the Air Force on
July 1, 2006. The regiment was one of the most strategic
anti-aircraft defense organs in Poland.
The ceremonial transfer of the
regiment took place on
July 4, 2006. Garwyn Mrzeżyno
included a part of the Trzebiatów municipality and the entire Rewal
commune [4] .
Due to changes in the structures of
the Air
Force , by decision of the Ministry of Defense No.
Z-37 / Org. / P1 of May 27, 2010 ,
then the decision of the Ministry of Defense No. PF-68 / Org. / SSG
/ ZOiU-P1 dated 19
August 2010 executive order of the Commander of the
Air Force No. PF-211 of 8
September 2010 years it was decided to demoulding
units in the period to 31 December 2011. 16 December 2011, after 25
years of service there was the official disbandment of the 78th
regiment, which was formed on the basis of a new 36
Missile Squadron Air Defense [3]
